It was a whirlwind ride for Silvia as she grew in confidence and awareness of how impactful her skill base could be to businesses such as Blue Bear Coffee. Co.
“Blue Bear Coffee Co. is the trading name of The Justice Business CIC, a registered social enterprise founded in September 2018 with the simple objective of raising money and awareness for organisations fighting human trafficking and caring for survivors, through the sale of ethically sourced, slavery-free coffee.
Within the three months we were able to work together to finalise the investor pitch deck to raise funding in 2021, identified the priorities for the business to allocate the funding once raised and structured a 5 year financial model to project revenues. As well as, developing methods to invest in the digital customer experience. To be able to grow as well as to create long-term sustainability, Blue Bear will need to focus to acquire bigger accounts – e.g. corporate clients through the Buy Social Corporate Challenge – and stabilise the top line.
Alongside learning so much about my role as a consultant including prioritisation, realistic timescope and the ‘do’s’ and ‘dont’s’ of being a consultant, it was also a period of personal growth. Before I joined the programme, I was less confident, and this experience supporting a passionate client was so inspiring. It increased my self esteem as I became aware of how much insight I was able to provide. I really now feel that I am going in the right direction with my career, I just need to persist.”
