Immersion Programme – 2017 Date Announcement

By the time 2017 rolls around and we run our next India programme, we’ll have officially been two years since we delivered our first ever Immersion Programme. Time sure flies when you’re having fun!

To date we’ve run 15 Immersion Programmes across India, Sri Lanka and Brazil. We’ve seen 120 volunteers join us on our mission to provide specialist business support to entrepreneurs tackling issues in their communities and we’ve worked with a similar number of clients and host organisations who needed support. We’ve also run training workshops in Kosovo and in the UK and worked with partners UnLtd India, British Council, Eixo Rio, the Good Market, Greenwich University and the Migrant Entrepreneurs Network.

And as if that wasn’t enough, _SocialStarters (itself a relatively new start-up) has received business support from an incredible team of volunteers and professionals including consultants at EY, our in-house coaches and staff.

So it might come as a surprise that we’re only going to run two Immersion Programmes in 2017.

India – 11th February to 25th March (6 weeks)

Brazil – 18th March to 29th April (6 weeks)

We’re really excited about this, because it means we can continue to deliver career breakers a unique experience overseas whilst at the same time giving us the space to work on some exciting new projects aimed to create a big impact throughout 2017!

Want to join us?

We’ll have space for a limited number of people on each programme, and are looking for skilled professionals with 3+ years experience in core business areas such as marketing, sales, business development, strategy and finances as well as opening up some spots for creative professionals, digital and IT specialists and project managers.

Wondering if you’ve got the right skills to support an entrepreneur?

  • We prepare you ahead of your arrival with pre-programme readings
  • You receive 3 days of initial training in your programme location
  • You have support on hand for 1-2-1 mentoring
  • You participate in additional workshops each week, including problem solving and idea generation
  • Our partners provide additional support and awareness for you around your client and the market

Once you’ve applied, if you make it through to the next round we’ll have a 30minute Q&A session with you to get to know you and answer any of your questions. If we feel like you are the right fit for our programme and the clients we work with, we’ll make you a formal offer to join us.
